GREETINGS IN JANNAH
Jannah is the place where there is eternal happiness and no misery whatsoever – everything a person can wish for he will find it there.
“Salam” will be the greeting in Jannah as has been mentioned in the Qur’an in many different places:
SALAM WILL BE THE GREETING IN JANNAH
- in which their prayer will be, “Glory be to You, O Allah!” and their greeting will be, “Peace!” and their closing prayer will be, “All praise is for Allah—Lord of all worlds!” Sura Yunus 10:10
- And those who were mindful of their Lord will be led to Paradise in ˹successive˺ groups. When they arrive at its ˹already˺ open gates, its keepers will say, “Peace be upon you! You have done well, so come in, to stay forever.” Sura Zumar 39:73
- Their greeting on the Day they meet Him will be, “Peace!” And He has prepared for them an honorable reward. Sura Al-Ahzab 33:44
- “Peace be upon you for your perseverance. How excellent is the ultimate abode!” Sura Ar-Ra’d 13:24
- And “Peace!” will be ˹their˺ greeting from the Merciful Lord. Sura Yasin 36:58
- those whose souls the angels take while they are virtuous, saying ˹to them˺, “Peace be upon you! Enter Paradise for what you used to do.” Sura An-Nahl 16:32
- There they will never hear any idle or sinful talk—only good and virtuous speech. Sura Waqi’ah 25-26
- It is they who will be rewarded with elevated mansions in Paradise for their perseverance, and will be received with salutations and greetings of peace, Sura Furqan 25:75
- They will not hear therein any ill speech – only [greetings of] peace – and they will have their provision therein, morning and afternoon. Sura An-Nahl 19:62

INSTRUCTION TO ENTER THE HOUSE WITH SALAM
There is no restriction on the blind, or the disabled, or the sick. Nor on yourselves if you eat from your homes, or the homes of your fathers, or your mothers, or your brothers, or your sisters, or your paternal uncles, or your paternal aunts, or your maternal uncles, or your maternal aunts, or from the homes in your trust, or the homes of your friends. There is no blame on you eating together or separately. However, when you enter houses, greet one another with a greeting ˹of peace˺ from Allah, blessed and good. This is how Allah makes His revelations clear to you, so perhaps you will understand. Sura An-Nur 24:61
Abu Dawood (5096) narrated that Abu Maalik al-Ash’ari said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “When a man enters his house, let him say, ‘Allaahumma inni as’aluka khayr al-mawlaj wa khayr al-makhraj. Bismillaah walajna wa Bismillaah kharajna wa ‘ala Allaahi rabbina tawakalna (O Allaah, I ask You for the best entering and the best exiting. In the name of Allaah we enter and in the name of Allaah we leave, and in Allaah our Lord we put our trust),’ then he should say salam to his family.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah, 225.
