How to be saved from the terror of that Day
The terror of the Day of Judgment is terrifying indeed! Nothing that the humankind or jinn has ever seen before will take place that Day. The sky will be torn apart, the mountains will be move, there will be severe earthquake that cannot be explained in any words. Numerous verses of the Qur’an have been revealed to warn mankind about the horror of that Day and what will happen.
How to prepare for that frightening Day? Is there any deed that will save us on that Day that Allah mentions in the Qur’an and the Prophet (PBUH) mentions that we can do to be saved?
Here are a few:
FEEDING THE NEEDY, ORPHAN, CAPTIVE
They [are those who] fulfill [their] vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread.
And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive,
[Saying], “We feed you only for the face [i.e., approval] of Allah. We wish not from you reward or gratitude.Indeed, We fear from our Lord a Day austere and distressful.”
So Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness
And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments].
Sura Insaan 7-12
THOSE WHO HAVE SENT GOOD DEEDS THAT WERE ACCEPTED BY ALLAH SWT
Indeed, those for whom the best [reward] has preceded from Us – they are from it far removed.
They will not hear its sound, while they are, in that which their souls desire, abiding eternally.
They will not be grieved by the greatest terror,1 and the angels will meet them, [saying], “This is your Day which you have been promised” –
Sura Al-Anbya 101-103
THOSE WHO COME TO JUDGEMENT DAY WITH GOOD DEEDS.
And [warn of] the Day the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will be terrified except whom Allah wills. And all will come to Him humbled.
And you see the mountains, thinking them motionless,1 while they will pass as the passing of clouds. [It is] the work of Allah, who perfected all things. Indeed, He is Aware of that which you do.
Whoever comes [at Judgement] with a good deed will have better than it, and they, from the terror of that Day, will be safe.
Sura An Naml 87-89
BELIEVING IN ALLAH AND DOING RIGHTEOUS DEEDS
The Day He will assemble you for the Day of Assembly – that is the Day of Deprivation.1 And whoever believes in Allah and does righteousness – He will remove from him his misdeeds and admit him to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. That is the great attainment.
Sura Taghabun 9
TAQWA

And on the Day of Resurrection you will see those who lied about Allah [with] their faces blackened. Is there not in Hell a residence for the arrogant?
And Allah will save those who feared Him by their attainment; no evil will touch them, nor will they grieve.
Sura Zumar 60-61
May Allah make us of those who are saved from the terror of that Day. Ameen.
