How to be with the Prophet (PBUH) in Jannah
"You will be with those whom you love"
Jannah is a place that has been promised to us if we obey Allah SWT and His Messenger (PBUH). Only our Prophet (PBUH) has seen Jannah when he was elevated to the Heavens during Mi’raj. The lowest Jannah given to a person will be ten times the size of this world. Life in Jannah is eternal without any ending or any loss of age or strength.
Allah has prepared for His believing slaves in Paradise that which no eye has seen, no ear has heard and has never even crossed the minds of men, such that even the person who has the least blessings in Paradise will think that he is the most blessed among them. Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The lowest of people in status in Paradise will be a man whose face Allah turns away from the Fire towards Paradise, and shows him a tree giving shade. He will say, ‘O Lord, bring me closer to that tree so that I may be in its shade… Then he will enter his house [in Paradise] and his two wives from among al-hoor al-‘iyn will come in and will say to him, ‘Praise be to Allaah who brought you to life for us and brought us to life for you.’ Then he will say, ‘No one has been given what I have been given.’” (Narrated by Muslim, no. 275)
Jannah and eternal life are even better if the Prophet (PBUH) is your neighbor – what more could one ask for? The Prophet (PBUH) declared that Talha (RA) And Az Zubair (RA) will be his neighbor in Jannah. What Talha (RA) And Az Zubair (RA) did for the Prophet (PBUH) to gain that status is not doable by any one of us and we won’t have that opportunity – but is there anything we can do to obtain that level ? Let us look from authentic sources of the Qur’an and sunnah.
OBEYING ALLAH AND THE PROPHET (PBUH)
“And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger will be in the company of those blessed by Allah: the prophets, the people of truth, the martyrs, and the righteous—what honorable company!” Sura Nisaa 69
Thauban (RA) was a companion who loved the Prophet PBUH very much – this ayah was revealed after he expressed his sorrow of not being with the Prophet (PBUH). If we obey Allah and His messenger (PBUH) we are guaranteed to be with him in Jannah.
Whosoever implements what Allah and His Messenger have commanded him and avoids what Allah and His Messenger have prohibited, then Allah will grant him a dwelling in the Residence of Honor. There, Allah will place him in the company of the Prophets, and those who are lesser in grade, the true believers, then the martyrs and then the righteous, who are righteous inwardly and outwardly. Allah then praised this company. From Tafsir ibn Katheer.
RABI`AH BIN KA`B AL-ASLAMI (RA)
Then help me (fulfill this wish) for you by performing many prostrations
Doing a lot of sujood can also bring us closer to Allah SWT, and the companionship of the Prophet (PBUH). A companion, Rabi`ah bin Ka`b Al-Aslami (RA), when asked by the Prophet (PBUH) – what do you want? He replied – your companionship in Jannah. The Prophet (PBUH) replied – help me in your du’a with a lot of sujood to Allah (SWT).

Abu Huraira reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: One who looks after the orphan whether he is his relative or not, I and he would be together in Paradise like this, and Malik (explained it) with the gesture by drawing his index finger and middle finger close together. LOVING THE PROPHET (PBUH)
Narrated Anas: A man asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about the Hour (i.e. Day of Judgment) saying, “When will the Hour be?” The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “What have you prepared for it?” The man said, “Nothing, except that I love Allah and His Apostle.” The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “You will be with those whom you love.” We had never been so glad as we were on hearing that saying of the Prophet (i.e., “You will be with those whom you love.”) Therefore, I love the Prophet, Abu Bakr and `Umar, and I hope that I will be with them because of my love for them though my deeds are not similar to theirs.
GOOD MANNERS
Jabir ibn Abdullah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, the most beloved and nearest to my gathering on the Day of Resurrection are those of you with the best character. Verily, the most reprehensible of you to me and the furthest from my gathering on the Day of Resurrection will be the pompous, the extravagant, and the pretentious.” They said, “O Messenger of Allah, we know the pompous and the extravagant, but who are the pretentious?” The Prophet said, “The arrogant.” Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2018
SUPPORTING AND TAKING CARE OF DAUGHTERS
Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Whoever supports two girls till they attain maturity, he and I will come on the Day of Resurrection like this”. Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) joined his fingers illustrating this. [Muslim].
DU’A
It was narrated from Abdullah (RA) that he was in the mosque offering supplication, when the Prophet (PBUH) came in whilst he was offering supplication and he said: “Ask, you will be given,” when he was saying: O Allah, I ask You for faith that does not waver, blessing that does not end and to accompany the Prophet (PBUH) in the highest station in Paradise, the Paradise of eternity. Musnad Ahmad Vol 3 Hadith 3797
BY INVOKING MORE BLESSINGS UPON THE PROPHET (PBUH)
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The people who will be nearest to me on the Day of Resurrection will be those who supplicate Allah more often for me.” [At-Tirmidhi].
May Allah SWT make us companions of the Prophet (PBUH) in Jannah.
