“I am crying because Revelation has now stopped”
Not a very renowned figure in the history of Islam, she nevertheless played a great role in the life of our Prophet (PBUH).
Her name was Umm Aiman bint Tha’labah (RA). She was the woman about whom the Prophet (PBUH) said, “Whosoever wishes to marry a lady of Paradise, then he should marry Umm Aiman (RA).” This he said because he was aware of her noble character, manners and purity of of heart.
After the death of the Prophet (PBUH), his two close companions Abu Bakr (RA) and Umar (RA) went to visit Umm Aiman (RA) and she began to cry. When asked why she was crying, she replied that with his passing away revelations from Allah had come to an end. Hearing this both of them started crying.

“Has the time not come for those who have believed that their hearts should become humbly submissive at the remembrance of Allah and what has come down of the truth? And let them not be like those who were given the Scripture before, and a long period passed over them, so their hearts hardened; and many of them are defiantly disobedient.” Sura Hadid 16
Has the time not come for us to reflect on the verses of the Qur’an?
